8 DEC 2006 SCHOOL OF THEOSOPHY IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA
The first School of Theosophy in Western Australia was held from 26 November to 3 December at the Mount Helena Retreat Centre. It was organised by the Perth Branch of the TS in Australia. Over twenty participants attended, including students from Melbourne and Adelaide. The theme was "The Theosophy of the Mystics" and the speaker was Pedro Oliveira, Education Coordinator of the TS in Australia. Subjects included 'H. P. Blavatsky and the Mystical Foundations of Theosophy', 'Mystics as Forerunners of a New Consciousness' plus extracts from the writings of, among others, Jalladudin Rumi, Meister Eckhart, St John of the Cross, Ramana Maharshi, Martin Buber, Krishnamurti as well as from the Theosophical classics "Light on the Path" and "The Voice of the Silence." © copyright 2002-2006 Theosophical Society in Australia - all rights reserved |
